Attendees, Speakers & Organizers can utilize the Q&A tab on their sidebar to submit questions during sessions. When there's a red dot next to this tab, that means either a text or video question has been submitted. To find both, click on the Q&A tab to the right of your screen. You'll then be able to either click "Text Q&A" or "Vid Q&A" to view the submitted questions. We'll take you through both right now.
Text Q&A
For Text Q&A, if you see a question that you like - and you want attendees to see the question on screen while you while you answer - click "Share" next to the question.
The text will then appear on the screen for attendees to see.
You can select different layouts when sharing audience Q&A text on stage. Learn more details on the different layout options here.
When you are done sharing the Q&A you can click "Stop Sharing" on the screen (as seen above in the bottom right corner). If you've already answered the question, and you no longer want to let the attendees hit the thumbs up next to the question (upvote it), then you can click the "Mark Answered" button next to the question. You will now see "Answered" button instead of "Mark Answered". If you would like to let the audience know that you are changing your response or let attendees upvote again for the same question, you can click on the "Answered" button to revert back. Both speakers and Organizers can update answers this way.
You can delete any question by clicking Delete question as shown below. Only the organizer has the ability to delete a question.
If you would like to answer the question via text instead of live on stage, you can type a response in the "Post an answer" box. Once you do so, the question will automatically be marked as "Answered". Both Speakers and Organizers have the ability to respond to Text Q&As this way.
You may only respond to each question once, and after entering a response you can change your response by clicking "Answered"(change to unanswered state). By doing so, you can delete your response and type in a new response. Both speakers and organizers have the ability to type in a new response this way.
Moderate Text Q&A
The Moderate Q&A parameter allows you to view and approve submitted questions prior to letting attendees view and upvote them.
This parameter can be enabled or disabled from the Space page for your event.
- Login into your Admin Panel.
- Click the pencil edit icon on the event
- Click the Space link on the Event Panel.
- Select the Engagement Panel tab at the top of the Space page.
- Once you've been redirected, open the Q&A dropdown.
- Select the Moderate Text Q&A for All Session toggle to enable or disable this feature.
Then, on the day of the event, in the Q&A tab you will see all questions from the attendees, but you will have to click "Approve" next to any questions you'd like attendees to see.
Vid Q&A
Audience members are able to ask both Text Q&A and Video Q&A. For Video Q&A, this occurs if an audience member raises their hand. You can then either choose to welcome them to share the stage with you, to ask their question via video, or not.
To view who raise their hands, in the Q&A tab, choose “Video Q&A.” (Note: if no one has asked a question, both tabs will be empty underneath.)
You can then click the button “Approve” here, to promote the attendee to join you on video.
Once you are done chatting with the attendee on stage, you can have the attendee leave stage by clicking “END" next to the attendees' name on the sidebar (where you once clicked Approve, as pictured above).
Turn off Text or Video Q&A
This can be turned off a session-by-session basis. To do this:
- Login into your Admin Panel.
- Click the pencil edit icon on the event
- Click the Space link on the Event Panel.
- Then, next to the agenda item you want to turn off questions for, click on the pencil
- On the pop-up screen, select the Stage Engagement tab.
- You may turn off the Raise Hand toggle (which will disable Video Q&A) or turn off the Q&A Enabled toggle (which will disable Text Q&A).
