Overview
Branding gives your event its own unique look and feel, which can be aligned to your company or event style. Goldcast gives deep customization options, from colors, images, fonts, and much more.
Navigating to the Branding Page
To update your event branding, open your event and click the Branding tab on the left side menu.
Branding Page Setup
On the left side of this page is the list of all the customization options. On the right side is the preview window, where you can see how your branding choices will look in your event. These screens are representative of the theming across multiple Goldcast pages. For example, the event landing page uses the same theming as the registration page for your event.
The Stage is what your event sessions will look like.
Event tabs will each have similar style, including the following pages: People, Speakers, Agenda, Rooms, Booths, and additional tabs.
Previewing and Saving Your Changes
After you have made any change on the Branding page, check your changes in the Preview Window and confirm the appearance of both the Desktop and Mobile views. You can do so by selecting the Preview icons at the bottom of the page.
Remember to select the Publish button when you are satisfied with your changes.
Note: If you do not click Publish, your changes will not be displayed on your event.
Setting up Your Event Branding
There are four sections of customization options: overall Branding Settings, Event Landing options, Stage options, and Video Production elements.
Branding Settings
Theme Base
First, choose a base template to start customizing your event. You can choose from Dark, Light, or Colorful. Once you choose a base, you can choose to click the Publish button - and your event is ready to go!
If you’d like to further customize your event to your unique colors, images, fonts, and more, continue to the next section.
Logo
Upload your logo here. Please upload a PNG or SVG file with a 1:1 aspect ratio. If you hover over the Stage preview page, you will see the location the logo will appear highlighted (the upper left corner of the page).
Favicon
If you choose to upload a favicon, it will appear at the top of the browser tab your event is open in. Please upload a 32x32px image in a PNG file format. |

Font
You can choose a font from the Goldcast Font Library, a Web Font, or a Custom Font. Please choose a web compatible font that has Regular, Medium and Bold weights.
To choose a font from the Library, select a font from the dropdown.
To use a Web Font, enter the font name and URL.
To use a Custom Font, upload a TFF file. Once your custom font has been uploaded, it will not appear on the preview panel.
To preview your font, publish your changes and view it from either the Event or Registration page.
Tip: Make sure to select a font that appears clearly over your selected background images or colors!
Button & Card Color
Note: The Secondary Color option for buttons is no longer available. Moving forward, buttons will share the same color as the Stage Screensaver. However, events created with a secondary color prior to this update will remain unchanged.
Choose a button color and a font color. The button & card color will appear on main buttons or CTAs and the selected item in the navigation bars. It will also be the background color of any placeholder slides, Q&A questions, and polls that you publish to the stage, as well as popups and modals. (Buttons inside popups and modals will use the reverse button & font colors.)
We recommend choosing a font color that pops on the button color, and a button color that will have high visibility against the background images or colors you choose.
Event Landing Page
Hero Background
The hero background will appear at the top of your event landing page. You must select a Desktop option and a Mobile option. We recommend keeping these selections the same.
Your hero background can be an image, a solid color, or a gradient.
Image
Please make sure the image you upload meets the following requirements. This will ensure that it looks great on all screen and device sizes.
Desktop
|
Mobile
|
You may choose to hide the event title and date from the page, if you are using an image and you have embedded your event details in your image. To do this, deselect the Show title checkbox.
If you leave the title visible, you may choose a unique text color for the title.

Solid Colors
To select a solid color, use the color picker to choose a color for Desktop and Mobile.
Gradients
To select a gradient, use the color picker to choose colors for Desktop and Mobile gradients as well as a gradient type: radial or linear.
You may remove the fading gradient from the bottom of the hero image into the agenda section of the page by clicking the "Remove gradient from hero image" checkbox.
This will create a clear separation between your hero image and your agenda section of the registration and landing pages.
Agenda Background
The agenda background color will be the color behind your agenda items on your event landing page.
A slightly more transparent shade of this color will also be used for agenda item tiles, which appear on top of the agenda background.
Stage Options
Stage Background
The stage background will be the background image or color inside your event. We recommend picking an image or color that is fun, engaging, but that your content is still easily visible and readable on top of.
Your stage background can be an image, a solid color, or a gradient.

You can also adjust the Opacity and Blur by moving the sliders.
Note: Make sure your text is readable on the sidebar and navigation bar based on the Stage Background, Font color, and Button & Card colors you have selected.
Call to Action Button
This is a button you can enable on your event to invite attendees to click and submit their information. You can use this button to offer demos, swag, prizes, set up meetings - whatever you’d like!
Select the toggle to enable the button. Then, fill in the Button Text, Confirmation Title, and Confirmation Message. |

The button will appear in the top navigation bar of your event. Once clicked, an attendee will see the confirmation title and message. At the end of the event, in the Dashboard, you can see who clicked this button and follow up with them accordingly.
Buffer Video
The buffer video plays on stage before the event and between sessions. It’s a great way to welcome people to your event and keep the energy high.
To add a video, click the Select Video button and pick one from your video list. In order to select a video, you must first upload it to your Library. Click here for instructions on uploading a video.

Filler Slide
The filler slide is shown before a prerecorded video starts to play, or when it ends before the session end time or before the broadcast is switched back to live.
Filler slides should have a 16:9 aspect ratio and be no larger than 1920x1080px. If a slide is not uploaded, the Goldcast logo will display by default.
The Goldcast platform accepts filler slides uploads in .jpg, .png, and .tiff file formats.
Note: Filler slides cannot be updated less than 60 minutes before the start of your event.

You can publish these images to the stage during your live event and select a location for them to appear (one of the four corners of the stage, the top middle, or bottom middle).
Images that you upload should be a 1:1 ratio. You may upload more than one image. Select the Upload Image button to upload each image separately.
Lower Thirds
Moderators can choose chat comments to present as banners on stage during the event. You can select the style of the banner in this section.
You have the option to use your Button or Agenda Color for your banner.
You can also reverse your banner colors by disabling the Reverse Colors toggle.
