Setting up Vanity Links for Your Event
Submitting Domains for Your Event
If you would like to set up a vanity link for your Goldcast event, you will need to start by emailing the domains (or subdomains) you would like your event to be associated with to support@goldcast.io.
Once the vanity link is setup for your event, attendee magic links retrieved from admin app or received via registration mails will also reflect the vanity URL in the link.
Please note: We do require 72 business hours to set-this up for you.
The event ID will STILL be visible at the end of the vanity URL.
Please provide domains for the following pages of your event:
Your Registration page (i.e. eventnameregistration.company.com)
And your Event page (i.e. eventname.company.com)
Note: Your Event and Registration domain names must be different. You may not use the same domain name for these pages.
Important note: the event ID will STILL be visible after the vanity URL.
Setting up a DNS Record
Once our support team has received your email, they will respond with a record name and value that you will need to add to your domain's DNS records.
For Example:
Record Name: _9fc7c3baf9f21329e45bab6f98c081bd.yourdomain.com.
Record Value: _fde6219f84f21e2828f0ac6235240ebd.xtsdcrbgyf.acm-validations.aws.
While the process for adding these entries will vary depending on your DNS provider, the image below provides an example of the record fields you will need to to fill in with your information and the information you have received from Goldcast.
The following links provide further instructions for adding DNS records to specific platforms:
Setting Up a Custom Email Domain
All emails send to registrants from the Goldcast platform are sent from no-reply@goldcast.io
by default. While the Goldcast platform does allow you to customize the email alias that is associated with this address, there is now in-app functionality that allows users to customize the email address that event emails are sent from, more information here.
If you are interested in using an email address that is associated with your organization, you may do so by sending the address you would like to use to support@goldcast.io so that our development team can set this up for you. You will receive an email from our Support team once the setup is complete.
Additionally, if the custom email domain feature is turned on and an attendees responds to an email organizers can monitor those email responses.
