As we mentioned in the introduction, the Salesforce integration is bi-directional. While Goldcast sends data to Salesforce, you can also configure the integration to receive Accounts and Opportunities, Leads and Contacts data from Salesforce to power the ROI dashboard in Goldcast.
What is the ROI dashboard, and how does it work?
Understanding the ROI (Return on Investment) of your Goldcast events is crucial in optimizing your events and planning future ones. The ROI dashboard in Goldcast allows marketing leaders, CMOs, and event managers to calculate the ROI of your Goldcast events, individually and in aggregate.
The ROI dashboard combines events data in Goldcast about your customers and prospects with the Account and Opportunity data in Salesforce to provide you with a holistic view of the following KPIs:
- Pipeline Influenced
- Pipeline Sourced
- Revenue Influenced
- Revenue Sourced

Configuring Salesforce settings for ROI reporting in Goldcast
It is crucial and mandatory to configure to sync data from your Salesforce account to Goldcast to power your ROI Dashboard. Follow these steps to sync the data from Salesforce to Goldcast and also turn a scheduled sync to periodically update your ROI Dashboard:
- Open your Salesforce instance and make sure you have the latest version of Goldcast’s Managed Package(1.10.2).
- Navigate to the App Launcher in the upper left corner of your screen.
- Search for Goldcast, locate the Goldcast app and open it.
- In the top navigation items bar, locate the ROI configuration. If you can't find it, click More drop-down to load more options.
- Open the ROI Configuration tab. This tab is essential to send data to the ROI Dashboard and ensure a timely sync is in progress in the background.
- You will now notice two subsections in the ROI configuration tab:
- Current ROI
- Future ROI
- In Current, click Send Existing Account Information, Send Existing Lead Information, and Send Existing Contact Information buttons only once.
Note: Click these buttons only once. This is a one-time process needed to send all the historical data of your Leads and Account toward Pipeline, Account and Revenue metrics in the dashboards. Ensure the status for all progress bars reach 100%. DO NOT REFRESH this page, as it’ll halt the progress.
- Once done 100%, click the following subsection: Future ROI. This opens a page with a toggle button to turn on sync for your data to flow to Goldcast.
- To ensure your data flows on time to Goldcast and is well-orchestrated on the ROI Reporting Dashboard, turn ON the toggle to set up a scheduled job on your end.
- You can later disable the sync by turning the same toggle OFF.
- You can also turn ON or OFF the Email Notifications that the authenticated user will get upon each successful sync every 6 hours. You can configure these settings as per your requirements.
This marks the successful completion of the setup required for the ROI Reporting Dashboard.
