Do you want to add users to your Goldcast organization but restrict their usage to Content Lab only? For example, you might want to grant contractors, content creators, marketing and design team members access to Content Lab to create and manage content while preventing them from making any changes to your events and other settings in Goldcast Studio.

To address this need, we have introduced the option to purchase Content Seats as an add-on to your current pricing plan. These seats provide users with exclusive editing capabilities only to Content Lab. When you assign a Content Seat, users will have the Seat Type: Content and Role Type: Content Lab Editor.

As a Content Lab Editor, these users can view and edit all assets generated from events and any custom uploads made within Content Lab. They can use these assets to generate, create, edit, share and download various types of content, such as video clips, blogs, social media posts, takeaways, custom posts, and more.

However, it is crucial to note that these users will not have editing privileges for the rest of Goldcast Studio. They cannot make any changes to events, webinars, series, templates, pages, integrations, and other features outside of Content Lab. This ensures that your organization's events are accessible only to authorized team members, and others can access Content Lab without purchasing a full platform seat.  

How to purchase Content Seats

You can purchase the required number of Content Seats as an add-on to your current pricing plan. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to discuss pricing. 

How to assign Content Seats

Once you've completed the purchase, follow these steps to assign Content Lab Editor roles. 

  1. Log into Goldcast Studio and click Settings in the left sidebar. 
  2. Navigate to the Users tab and click the + New User button.
     
     
  3. Enter the First Name, Last Name, Email, and Title. 
  4. Click the Seat Type dropdown, and select Content
  5. The Role dropdown will automatically default to Content Lab Editor.  
  6. Click Add

FAQs

1. Where can I view the number of Content Seats included in my plan?

By default, your Goldcast organization doesn't have any Content Seats allocated. You need to purchase it as an add-on. 

The number of Content Seats you have purchased as an add-on is mentioned in your Goldcast contract. To view it, navigate to Settings → Organization in Goldcast Studio. 

2. Can users with Content Seats access assets across all Team Workspaces?

Yes. If Team Workspaces are enabled for your organization, users assigned to Content Seats are, by default, part of all Team Workspaces. They can view, create, and edit content across all Team Workspaces. 

3. I have unused Platform Admin seats. Can I assign users to these seats and give them access only to Content Lab?

Yes. Let's say you have five Platform Admin seats but use only three. You can add users and select their Seat Type as Platform and Role Type as Content Lab Editor. This user will have editing access only to Content Lab and not the rest of Goldcast Studio. 

  1. Log into Goldcast Studio and click Settings in the left sidebar. 
  2. Navigate to the Users tab and click the + New User button.
     
     
  3. Enter the First Name, Last Name, Email, and Title. 
  4. Click the Seat Type dropdown, and select Platform
  5. In the Role dropdown, choose the role type as Content Lab Editor
  6. Click Add

Heads up! The seat type Platform → Content Lab Editor is priced higher than the seat type Content → Content Lab Editor. So, if you want to add users with access only to Content Lab, we highly recommend purchasing the lower-priced Content Seats as an add-on. If you have unused Platform admin seats, we encourage you to assign them to other Platform roles. 

 

 

4. Can I assign an existing Goldcast user to a Content Seat? 

Yes, you can reassign any existing user in your Goldcast organization as a Content Lab Editor. This frees up one Platform Admin seat to which you can add a new user. 

  1. Log into Goldcast Studio and click Settings in the left sidebar. 
  2. Navigate to the Users tab and use the search icon to find the user you want to reassign as a Content Lab Editor. 
  3. Click the Edit button next to the user’s name. 
  4. Click the Edit icon next to Role, and select the Seat Type as Content using the dropdown. 
  5. The Role dropdown will automatically default to Content Lab Editor.  
  6. Click the tick mark to save the changes.
