Introduction
Goldcast allows you to present PowerPoint slides with animations and GIFs during events. This enables richer storytelling without requiring changes to your existing presentation workflow.
However, animated slides follow a slightly different processing flow than standard slides. This article explains how to upload, what’s supported, and what to expect during your event.
How To Access On Goldcast Studio Platform
- Platform Panel → Events → Open desired conference event → Event Dashboard → Program → Agenda → Open desired session → Slides
- Platform Panel → Events → Open desired webinar → Edit Event → Assets → Slides
Supported Content
The following content types are supported in animated slides:
- PowerPoint animations
- GIFs (auto-play)
Unsupported Content
The following are not supported in the current version:
- Slides containing embedded videos will fail in the animated flow, but can be shared without animations.
- To process animations, remove videos and re-upload the deck.
Step-by-Step Guide to Uploading Slides with Animations
To upload animated slides:
In Webinar
- In Goldcast Studio, navigate to your webinar present under Events module.
- Click Edit Event, and navigate to Assets tab.
- Click + Add Slide.
- Click + Upload File.
- Select Slide with animation. This ensures your deck is processed through the animated pipeline instead of the standard flat (non-animated) flow.
- Choose slide deck with animation from your system and click Upload.
- Select the deck and click Save.
- Click Save. Upon clicking this button, the animated slide deck gets successfully uploaded in the platform.
In Event
- In Goldcast Studio, navigate to your event present under Events module.
- Go to Program → Agenda, and open a desired session.
How Animations Work During Events
- Animations are preserved and displayed to attendees.
- Each animation step advances when the presenter moves forward (for example, right arrow [→]).

- GIFs automatically play in a loop within slides.
What Happens If Animations Fail
If the platform cannot process animations:
- Your slides will still be available.
- They will be displayed without animations (as static slides).
- You will see a clear message in Studio indicating the issue. Example message: Error processing. Please delete this file and try uploading again.
File Size Limits
To support animated PowerPoint slides, Goldcast applies a few upload limits:
- Your file must be a .pptx file.
- Your file must be 250 MB or smaller.
- Your presentation must not contain embedded video files (MP4s).
If your file exceeds 250 MB, is not a .pptx file, or contains embedded video, the upload will fail. To continue, remove any videos, save the presentation as a .pptx file, or split a large deck into smaller files before uploading.
Best Practices
- Upload early – Upload slides at least 1 day before your event to allow processing time.
- Avoid videos – Use separate video uploads instead of embedding videos in slides.
- Optimize deck size – Break large decks into smaller files if needed.
- Test in advance – Verify animations display correctly before going live.
