Discover key steps and best practices for a smooth DNS migration to Cvent, ensuring minimal disruption and optimized performance.

Planned Maintenance: What You Need to Know

We have two brief maintenance windows scheduled for this weekend as part of a backend infrastructure improvement. Here's everything you need to know.

What's happening?

We're making a backend infrastructure update to improve the reliability of our platform. This is not a visible change to the product, but it may cause temporary access issues for a small number of users.

When is the maintenance scheduled?

There are two short windows:

  • Saturday, April 4  — 1:30–2:00 AM EST
  • Sunday, April 5 — 5:30–6:00 AM EST

Will there be downtime?

No full downtime is expected. Most users will not experience any disruption. In rare cases, a small number of users may see temporary access issues depending on their network or internet provider.

What might I experience if I'm affected?

You may notice pages not loading temporarily, or see error messages such as SERVFAIL or NXDOMAIN. These should resolve on their own without any action needed on your part.

How long could issues last?

If you're affected, the disruption should be brief and temporary. However, DNS updates can take up to 24 hours to fully stabilize globally. Most users will not notice anything during this time.

Will live events be impacted?

Live events are not expected to be affected. In rare cases, a small number of attendees may experience temporary access issues. We recommend avoiding scheduling critical activities during the maintenance windows if possible.

What can I do if I run into issues?

Try the following steps:

  • Refresh the page and try again
  • Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data
  • Use a public DNS such as Google DNS (8.8.8.8)
  • Flush your DNS cache:
    • Windows: Open Command Prompt and run ipconfig /flushdns
    • macOS: Open Terminal and run sudo dscacheutil -flushcache

If issues persist beyond 24 hours after Sunday's window, please reach out to our support team.

Is there a rollback plan?

Yes. If any significant issue occurs, our engineering team can revert to the previous configuration. We do not anticipate needing to do this, but the option is available.
