Are you planning an event but unsure which Goldcast event type to choose?

Goldcast offers a variety of event styles to match your vision and needs. Whether you're hosting a quick single-session webinar or planning an elaborate multi-day, multi-region virtual or in-person conference, we'll help you find the perfect format that fits your requirements.

Goldcast offers the following four event styles:

Webinars

Webinars in Goldcast are single-session, virtual events. They have a condensed agenda with no rooms, booths, tracks, or breaks. Once the webinar is over, Goldcast generates AI-powered post-event assets such as video clips, blog posts, takeaways, resources,

Use cases: Ideal for product launches, product demos, company updates and announcements, panel discussions, customer learning sessions, customer onboarding, training, and other virtual events that span just one session.

Events

They are the classic Goldcast-style virtual conferences. They are highly flexible and can be:

Use cases: Ideal for virtual summits, in-person events, hybrid events with in-person and virtual audiences, large-scale digital conferences, company kickoffs, events with sponsors, and more.

Series

In Goldcast, Series are collections of related but individual events/webinars

Ideally, you expect registrants to sign up for one or more events within the series, as the topic/discussion differs for each child event. One of the biggest advantages of hosting a series is that attendees can register for one, many or all events by submitting the registration form just once.

Use cases: Ideal for multi-episode training series, multi-part workshops, or virtual summits that explore a common theme with multiple episodes focusing on different subtopics.

Repeating Event

As the name implies, in a repeating event, the same event happens repeatedly on a predetermined frequency: daily, weekly, monthly, or custom.

Ideally, you'll choose this event type when attendees will likely attend only one instance of the repeating event, as the content and presentation remain the same across all child events. The biggest benefit of a repeating event is that you don't have to manually recreate the entire event for events that run daily, weekly, monthly, etc.

Use cases: Ideal when you run onboarding sessions for new staff every week or for office hours where customers can sign up for demos on a specific product, etc.

Differences between series and repeating events

Features Repeating Events Series
Setup

You create a blueprint for the event, and Goldcast automatically generates events based on the blueprint at your desired frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, or custom).

A series is a collection of different events grouped together, allowing for more flexibility in structure and content. You need to create and duplicate individual events to add them to the series.
Event Type All child events are of the same type.  Child events can be of any type. For example, the initial episodes in your series can be virtual webinars, with the final one being an in-person event, etc.
Event Content

Repeating events are ideal when the content and structure remain the same across occurrences. For example, a weekly training session on the same topic/feature.

Series are suitable when you expect different topics or discussions for each event, or when you want registrants to sign up for multiple events within the series.
Registration

You expect attendees to sign up for only one specific occurrence of the event. However, you can customize the registration form to allow multiple selections.

Attendees can register for multiple or all events in the series using a single registration form, streamlining the process.
Event Editing

Changes to the blueprint impact all upcoming events, when you click the Sync Changes button.

All events in a series are individual events, and you can edit them without impacting others.

Similarities between repeating events and series

  • Event Management: Both repeating events and series make it easy to manage multiple events under a unified structure.
  • Single Registration Page: All events created from a blueprint in repeating events and those within a series share a common registration page and form. This setup allows attendees to select the specific event(s) they wish to attend.
  • Analytics: For both repeating events and series, you can access Reports that provide insights into the performance of all events and Analytics dashboards for individual metrics for each child event.
  • Separate Hub Page Listing: You can publish each child event in both repeating events and series separately on the hub page. This makes it easy for registrants to view the events they're interested in.
