Introduction
The Caption Translation feature in Content Lab allows you to seamlessly translate captions and transcripts from one language to another. This capability enhances accessibility and helps audiences around the globe understand and engage with your video content. By supporting multiple languages and offering user-friendly translation options, this feature eliminates the need for manual transcription and translation, saving time and improving accuracy.
This feature is available as an add-on or included, depending on your subscription plan. Caption Translation feature is available for all clips generated in Content Lab.

The following languages are supported for caption translation:

Step-by-Step Guide to Translating Captions
Follow these steps to translate captions into your desired language:
- Log in to the Goldcast Studio platform.
- Navigate to Video Library tab.
- Open the desired video.

Note: If you want to translate captions for videos from other platforms, simply upload a video clip using + New Video and repeat the same process.
- Go to the Clips section.

- Select a desired clip.
- Go to Translate.

- Choose the language you want to translate your captions and transcript into.

- Click Translate. The transcript and captions will automatically translate into the selected language.

- Click Publish.

- Click Publish changes. The clip along with translated subtitles will be added to the video library and can be used later in webinars, events, pages, and other destinations.

Translation Sync Tips
- Edits made in one translated language won’t update other languages.
- At a time your clip can be published with subtitles in only one language.To have a clip with subtitles in multiple languages , we recommend to duplicate the clip and add the subtitles in each language.
- If you change the original transcript, regenerate translations to update them.
- The audio, title, and description of the clip always stay in the original language.
Regenerating Translations after Editing
If you make any changes or corrections to the original transcript, follow these steps to regenerate the translations:
- Make your edits or corrections to the transcript.
- Click the Regenerate translation icon from the dropdown menu. The captions will regenerate in the selected languages with the updated transcript.

Tip: Always make all your edits to the original transcript before translating, to avoid multiple regeneration steps.
Editing Options for Captions
Correct Captions
You can manually edit captions for accuracy. Changes will only apply to the language you are editing.

The following are the steps to correct captions:
- Select the text.
- Make the corrections in the edit box.
- Click Correct. Upon clicking this button, transcripts get successfully corrected.
Hide Captions
You can hide captions in a specific language. See the following video:

Note: Hiding captions in one language will not hide captions in other languages.
Delete Captions
You can delete captions only in the original language. Once deleted, you need to regenerate the translations for respective languages to see the changes reflect in already translated languages.

Share a Clip
The following are the steps to share a clip:

- Click Share.
- Under the Link tab, click Copy Link. You can now share the link to allow others to view the clip with captions in the selected language.
Download a Clip
The following are the steps to download a clip:

- Click Share.
- Go to the Download tab.
- Choose the Subtitles you want to include in the downloaded clip.
- (Optional) Turn ON the Upscale Video toggle to optimize video quality.
- Click Start Download. The clip will download in the original audio language with the selected subtitles.

No, caption translation is only available for uploaded videos and event recordings.
