Introduction
With Content Lab’s Image Overlay feature for Recording Studio Recordings, you can now easily add brand logos or any image to your recorded videos — without needing any advanced video editing skills.
Whether you want to reinforce brand identity with a logo throughout the entire video or highlight key moments with specific images, this feature gives you full creative control. You can upload images, position them exactly where you want on the screen, adjust their size, set when they appear, and much more — all within a few simple clicks.
This guide will walk you step by step through using image overlays to make your recordings more impactful and visually polished.
Step-by-Step Guide for Adding Image Overlays
The following are the steps for adding image overlays to Recording Studio recordings:
Upload Your Image
- Log in to the Goldcast Studio platform.
- Navigate to the Recordings module and choose the recording to which you’d like to add image overlays.

- Open the editing workspace by clicking Edit Video.

- Go to Images.

- Click Upload to choose an image from your computer.

Once uploaded, the image will automatically be added as an overlay track on the timeline and appear on the video preview canvas.

Note
- Default overlay duration: 20 seconds.
- Supported formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, and SVG.
- Maximum file size: 100 MB.
- You can upload only one image at a time.
Position the Image Overlay on the Canvas
- Click and drag the image on the video preview canvas to move it to your desired position (Refer to the video below).
- By default, the image will remain in the chosen position for its entire duration.
Customize the Image Appearance on the Canvas
- Click on the image to open the customization menu.
- You can make the following adjustments:
- Resize – Drag to scale the image larger or smaller.
- Fill frame – Expand the image to cover the entire frame if you want it as a full-screen overlay.
- Corner radius – Choose between squared or rounded corners for a sharp or soft look.
- Remove – Delete the image overlay from your video if needed.
Adjust the Image Duration on the Timeline

- On the timeline, find the image track.
- Click and drag either end of the image track to adjust when the image appears and disappears in the video.
- You can also click and drag the entire image track along the timeline to shift its start and end time.
Important! The image track cannot extend beyond the length of the main video segment.
Rename an Image Overlay

- Select the image track.
- Enter your preferred name.
- Click anywhere outside the input field to save the new name.
Delete an Image Overlay
- Select the image track on the timeline.
- Click the trash icon to remove the overlay completely from your video (refer to figure 7 above).
Note: The process for adding image overlays to Recording Studio Clips is identical to what’s described above — simply follow the same steps!
