Introduction
The Goldcast Recording Studio provides you with a powerful way to customize and polish your recordings before sharing them with your audience. One of its most versatile features is the ability to add or remove scenes in your recordings or clips. By controlling scenes, you can decide exactly which speakers or screenshares appear at different moments, making your content more dynamic and engaging.
This guide will walk you step-by-step through how to add scenes in both full recordings and individual clips, as well as how to remove scenes when needed.
Adding a Scene in the Recording of Recording Studio
To add a scene to your full recording and tailor which speakers or screens are shown, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Goldcast Studio platform.
- Navigate to the Recordings module.

- Choose Past Recordings from the dropdown.

- Open the desired recording from the list.
- Click Edit Video.

- Double-click on the timeline to display a (+) icon on the timeline bar.
- Click the (+) icon to add a new scene.

Alternatively: After Step 5, you can drag the timeline bar to the exact spot where you want to insert a new scene, then click the Add Scene icon (see figure below).

- Double-click the newly added scene.
- Go to Tracks to see the list of speaker or screenshare tracks. Please note that all the tracks are selected by default.

- Deselect any track(s) you wish to remove from this scene.

Note: To display a track again in a scene, simply reselect the previously unselected track(s).
By following these steps, you can successfully add and customize a scene in your recording.
Adding a Scene in the Recording Studio Clips
When you want to enhance a specific clip from your recording by adjusting who or what appears, use these steps:
- Log in to the Goldcast Studio platform.
- Go to the Recordings module.

- Choose Past Recordings from the dropdown.

- Open the desired recording.
- Click Edit Video.

- Navigate to the Clips section, where you'll find a list of generated clips.

- Select the clip you want to edit.

- Double-click on the timeline to display a (+) icon.
- Click the (+) icon to insert a new scene.

Alternatively: After Step 7, you can drag the timeline bar to the exact spot where you want to insert a new scene, then click the Add Scene icon (see figure below).

- Double-click the newly added scene.
- Go to Tracks to view the list of speaker or screenshare tracks. Please note that all the tracks are selected by default.

- Deselect the track(s) you want to exclude from this scene.

Note: To display a track again in a scene, simply reselect the previously unselected track(s).
By customizing scenes in clips, you can ensure each snippet highlights exactly what you want your audience to see.
Removing a Scene from Recording
Heads up! Before you dive into removing scenes, make sure you've checked out the Adding a Scene in the Recording of Recording Studio section above. Understanding how scenes are added will help you confidently remove only what you really want to.
To remove an unnecessary or outdated scene from your recording, use the following steps:
- Double-click on the scene you want to remove.
- Select Remove scene option. Upon selecting this option, the scene gets successfully removed from the recording.

Important! You must follow the same steps to remove scenes from individual clips as well.
